Welcome to our new backpack outreach that will share the gospel with the next generation of children in Mexico!

Statistics from the Mexican Government show that 39% of the people are under 14years of age, that comes to 312,000 children in Cancun alone! Our goal is to have thisoutreach not only in Cancun, but also at the new children's facility in Vera Cruz and in Tampico.

We are asking the U.S. churches to help us with the following major evangelistic outreach. Our program will be for April 30, when we will have a VBS type program with dramas, puppets, a snack and each child attending will receive a drawstring backpack filled with toys, candy and the good news about Jesus.

This program will be held around April 30th here in the Cancun area. Why April 30th? This day is called Children's Day all over Mexico. So, what better a time todo an evangelistic program and share about the greatest gift of all; Jesus Christ.

We need your help!

We are asking churches from the U.S. to help us by having their people participate in packing drawstring backpacks (as shown) and returning them to the church. Each backpack will then be picked up by Mexico Missions at the end of March for the "Children's Day Outreach". The backpacks will go directly from your church to Mexico and to the hands of the children with no extra cost to the children in Mexico.


If your church or organization is interested in participating in the Children's Day Backpack Outreach:

  1. Contact us by February 1st with the number of backpacks that you think your organization can pack.
  2. We will deliver the backpacks to you on or before March 1st.
  3. Your people will have two to three weeks to fill the backpacks and return them to your location.
  4. We will pick up the filled backpacks up at your location or arrange to have them shipped to us at no further shipping expense to you. (The $7.00 donationthat we are asking for below will help us to offset this expense.)

Below are some instructions for filling the backpacks:

The backpacks will come as follows:

  1. Green - 10 to 14 yr. old boys
  2. Purple - 10 to 14 yr. old girls
  3. Pink - 5 to 9 yr. old girls
  4. Gray -5 to 9 yr. old boys
  5. Light blue - 2 to 4 yr. old girls
  6. Dark blue - 2 to 4 yr. old boys

Some sample suggestions: Age related toys such as Nerf toys, dolls, watches, hairclips, cars, balls, soccer balls (deflated) are favorites, clothes (for hot weather climate),socks, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb, crayons and coloring books, sealed candythat won't melt, but no small hard candy for small children (they can choke on it). Suckers are good, gummy type or chewable candies are also good.

Each bag will come with a more detailed list of age related suggestions.

Things to avoid: Used items; toy guns or knives; chocolate or food; medications or vitamins; glass containers, small hard candy or other small items that can be a chokinghazard.

Instructions: Place these items, along with at least a $7.00 - $10.00 donation to help cover expenses and return the backpack to your church at the designated dates. Every backpack will be delivered with gospel materials included, such as a Bibles, tracts, or children's gospel literature.
